Confidence, passion, courage and willpower are some of the words from which the founder of Paytm is Mr. Life of Vijay Shekhar Sharma can be defined. Starting a company like Paytm was not an easy task. Do not know how many struggles and difficulties have passed, they have made Paytm successful: The story of success of Vijay Shekhar Sharma
Vijay Shekhar was born on July 8, 1973, in a middle class family of Uttar Pradesh, District Aligarh (Village Vijnagarh). His father was an honest school teacher and His mother was a housewife.
Vijay's early education was in a simple Hindi medium school in Vijagarh. Vijay was extremely good student and He always came first in his class. And on his own skill, he passed his 12th examination in just 14 years.
Vijay's early education was in a simple Hindi medium school in Vijagarh. Vijay was extremely good student and He always came first in his class. And on his own skill, he passed his 12th examination in just 14 years.
For further studies, he got admission in Delhi College of Engineering. Admission was obtained due to being meritorious but due to his studies from Hindi Medium his English was weak And because of this, they had to face major problems in studies.
At the same time, Vijay used to become desperate, he used to bunk classes and many times the idea of returning home was coming in his mind. But Vijay's destiny had written something else ... he kept standing ... Vijay convinced that he would first control the English.
After this he started trying to learn English and he got old books and magazines from the market and started learning English. For this, he adopted a unique way, he used to buy both Hindi and English books of the same book and used to read both together. If a person is passionate about learning something then he can do anything. With his hard work and will, he soon learned English.
This is the time when he used to not go to engineering classes. For this reason Vijay had a lot of time. Vijay was very inspired by the founder Sabeer Bhatiya at this time. And they also wanted to do something bigger in the field of the Internet and because Yahoo was created at Stanford College Campus, so they also wanted to go there and study.
But due to his financial condition and lack of English knowledge, he could not get admission there, but he got a way out of it and he followed some of Stanford's geniuses and started learning coding on his own. He did the same; He then read slowly from the books and learned coding and soon prepared a content management system of his own, which, in turn, started using India's big newspaper, Newsmagazine.
After some time, he started a company named XS, along with a friend of the college's 3rd year. His business model was liked by many people, and in 1999, he sold the XS to USA's Lotus Interworks for $ 5,00,000, and in the same company he started working as an employee. But Vijay Shekhar did not like to work for others and he soon quit his job from there. They immediately started searching for new business ideas and after that they established the One97.
In 2001, he started the company named One97. In this company, Shekhar put all his deposits, but due to the dot com bust, the company did not run in the beginning. Business fails to break any person morally and financially. Similar to Vijay Shekhar, he had to face financial difficulties.
In their difficult times, both of their partners left One97 and went away and now Vijay lives in a cheap hostel near Kashmiri gate in New Delhi. At one time when such a trip used to fix their money, and Sometimes only two cups of tea were spent all day.
Vijay Sekhar's efforts also started to color, and his company, which serviced the GSM and CDMA mobile operators, gradually started on the growth path and started earning profits. At that time smartphones were becoming very popular in the market, and from this point of view, there was a cashless transaction idea. He proposed to start the payment ecosystem in front of the Board of One97. Since this was a brand new market and the company was slowly raising its roots, no one was ready to raise the risk at this time.
In such a case, if you want to win, you could start a different company with this idea, but they did not do that.

If someone else was an entrepreneur, he could start his own company by selling his own equity. But my wish was always to make a 100 year old company. I believe men and boys are different because boys sell the company in one stroke and men run the company and build the heritage. "

And then Vijay Shekhar established Paytm.com in 2001 by putting 1% of its personal equity, about $ 2 Mn in its new idea. In the opening period, it was offering its services in the form of DTH recharge and prepaid mobile recharge. Then they started gradually increasing their services and then first gave electricity bills, gas bill payment, and then Paytm started selling goods at paytm.com just like other e-commerce companies.
And just recently, the Demonetization in India has made lottery work for PayTM and in view of this, PayTM has become a necessity for millions of people. At this time, Paytm.com is providing pre-paid mobile recharge, data card recharge, postpaid mobile recharge, bill payment etc. in all the states of India and today Paytm.com is India's most popular online payment site and its total business Has reached 15,000 crore rupees.
And recently the Economic Times chose Vijay Shekhar Sharma as "India's Hottest Business Leader under 40". In today's time, Vijay Shekhar Sharma is ideal for every Indian who wants to go through some of his hard work as it is the story of the person who saw the dream of million dollar company when he got 10 rupees for eating food in his pocket Were not even used.
The inspirational story of Vijay Shekhar teaches us not to lose heart at any other point of life and then for some successful ones like this, I miss a few lines.
